Heinz Robert Holliger (born 21 May 1939) is a Swiss oboist, composer and conductor. He is celebrated for his virtuoso style of playing, and is internationally recognized as one of the best oboe players alive. Multiple composers have written works for him. He is a acclaimed conductor and composer and received multiple awards for his work.
In 2019, the New European Ensemble celebrates the 80th birthday of the Swiss oboist, conductor and composer Heinz Holliger. With three concerts through The Netherlands, the ensemble his own compositions, together with pieces that were originally written for him, and pieces he regularly conducted in the past.
