Every month from October to May we play a special literary salon in The Hague and Amsterdam. Each night we combine music with literature and poetry and live music. Each night is put together for only two performances in two small theaters.
William Shakespeare’s sonnets are among the most iconic poems on love, loss and death in the English language. A selection of his finest sonnets are combined with 20th century English works by Britten and Clarke, including Britten’s highly varied Suite no. 3 for solo cello and his Elegy for viola solo.
Texts: William Shakespeare
Music: Benjamin Britten, Paul Hindemith, Witold Lutowlawski and Rebecca Clarke
