Queen Nobel holds Court Day. All animals complain about the malicious deeds of Reynard the Fox. Bruun the Bear and Tibeert the Cat have to fetch Reynard, but he outsmarts them each time. Only when his daughter Rosseline insists does Reynard appear at the court. Reynard is convicted… He seems to convince Queen Nobel of his innocence with a sublime story. But Reynard has underestimated one person: his daughter.
The medieval tale is specially adapted for this performance by double ‘Gouden Griffel’ winner Simon van der Geest.
Oene van Geel (winner of VPRO/Boy Edgar Prize 2013) creates a versatile musical composition, giving each animal its own musical idiom.
A multidisciplinary family show with puppeteers and dancers from Duda Paiva Company, musicians from the New European Ensemble, and singers from Holland Opera.
